𝌎The Fire

The Fire is an eschatological myth about when the old world ends and the longest night happens, woodland critters gather around a fire and tell each other stories. The stories are about us.

In one version of the story, the stories are told by a successor civilization after humanity disappears. See City by Cliff Simak for an example.

In another, we're not only the subjects of the stories, but also the storytellers, with the Fire acting as a sacramental confession. See The Advocate by Guardian Gryphon for an example.
